Blu Wave is a Toronto, Ontario based company committed to bringing the paddleboarding experience to the many great bodies of water in Canada. Paddleboarding, or Stand Up Padding (SUP) is a perfect combination of surfing and canoeing or kayaking, using a larger version of a long board surfboard and a long paddle. Blu Wave was conceived after its founder, Aaron Pilon, an avid traveler and surfing enthusiast, discover the sport on a trip to a surf town on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Aaron recognized an opportunity to bring a surfing experience to the many lakes of Canada through this emerging water sport which combined two of his favorite activities, surfing and kayaking.
Most of Canada may not offer epic surf breaks of like Hawaii or California, but it does have an abundance of lakes and a cottage culture like nowhere else in the world. The smaller cottage country lakes of Canada offer a great venue for flat water paddling, a zen like activity that offers a tremendous fitness benefit. Order up the right wind direction and intensity, and even the Great Lakes can provide some pretty sweet waves and a surfing experience right in our own backyard. A surf culture continues to flourish in Nova Scotia and BC.
Blu Wave designs and manufactures vintage style quality epoxy fiberglass and wood veneer paddleboards, in designs that capture the essence of the 1950s surf culture

So far we've only used the lower-end Easy Rider in our lessons and rental fleet, and we're really happy with it. Stable, on an 11'6" by 32" platform with little rocker, it's good for beginners, lessons, yoga, etc. Durable too. Wrap around soft top, and slick bottom skin can take a beating and still look good. Gets our vote for a good value-priced board.
