I personally have not paddled the Kicking Horse River, however, it is very high on my list of rivers to visit! The amazing folks of Golden, BC have recently been denied access rights and are no longer able to kayak, raft or enjoy the lower section of the incredible Kicking Horse River. Please imagine this was your homeriver, your backyard paradise and take the 2 minutes needed to sign the petition! In addition, a few incredible folks have written out detailed and impactful letters for you to copy, paste and email to the people in power that can make a difference. Jan 21 Social Instagram 'The Virgin Mary Falls' This set of watefalls is found somewhere along the 2 day drive South from the Futa down to the Rio Baker amid the hundreds of Vigrin Mary offerings and statues and is the feature of Waterfalls Day 5. This double drop falls over 60ft into a deep pool, recollects and then tumbles over the final 25ft into a deep pool with an extremely tight landing. Situated just downstream of the World Renown 'Siete Tazas' and 'Vente Dos' sections of waterfalls. Also featuring a current First Descent drop a couple minutes above. Salto de Leona has the same shape as Bridal Veil but drops only 80ft. Jan 18 Social Instagram Staying on yesterday's theme of daydreaming, rainbows and African Waterfalls. I shot this photo from the lip of Victoria falls from the Zimbabwe side during low flows. Victoria falls marks the beginning of the Batoka gorge on the Zambezi River. It falls 355ft, and during the floods forms a veil of falling water that is over a mile wide (1,708 meters).
