Nov 6 Social Instagram Had the chance to paddle along with an old friend today and his awesome organization, @FirstDescents, a camp the helps facilitate outdoor adventures for adults that have been impacted by cancer. Through activities like whitewater kayaking, rock climbing and surfing, the camp gets men and women affected by the disease out into the outdoors and on adventures they may not have a chance to otherwise. Today's group of woman were beyond inspiring. So many battles to learn about. One that stands out was hearing about an episode that led to half of a campers lung being removed recently. Kayaking helped get her back out exercising and adventuring. And she's only 22 years old. They dressed in costumes, celebrated life and cruised the Colorado. Survivors. Beauties. Friends. I have known @bradludden for many years. He's a phenomenal person and paddler. He recently lost his mom, and I my dad in December. We hadn't seen each other since, for a few years actually. Made my heart happy to see him and the difference @firstdescents makes. And now he is nominated for CNN's Hero award. If you get a chance and want to take the time to vote for him that would be awesome. The winner receives $100,000 for their cause and that would help them get a lot more survivors out on the river and #outlivingit The link is in my bio. Nov 3 Social Instagram Fishing the lower Eagle with @derrickdreyer yesterday. The great thing about river sup is its versatility. Run hard whitewater, mellow, float, fish or sightsee.
