Content

Every film from these guys just gets better, this is no exception. The content is therefore guaranteed to impress anyone who watches it - not only that, but the quality of the shots is superb too. After a gripping introduction the movie moves to an account of the legendary Stikine River. The footage lightens up a bit with some funky music; one is then shown some of the largest river waves in Quebec being ripped apart.

The movie then has segments on Iceland, Chile, Norway and the drop in Argentina which broke Rush’s back. Each section has great quality footage of world class paddling and also beautiful scenery shots, time lapses and head cam footage. Combined with the interviews with the various athletes makes for very enjoyable viewing. Much to my delight, there is also a little section devoted purely to carnage. At the end is also the much anticipated current world record waterfall run of Palouse Falls – 186 feet or 56.7 metres by Tyler Bradt – which as can be imagined is extremely impressive.

It’s great to see that the quality of kayaking films is increasing and also the caliber of rapids and big waterfalls being run. It is if not inspiring, then at least extremely entertaining. Does this fit in my top favorite three of kayaking films? Yes, without a doubt. Although I would have enjoyed a bit more than just 45 minutes, I think I’m just being greedy. Maybe time flies when you’re having fun.

Music

The music is simply marvelous. Everything is very well suited to what is being shown and I enjoyed every single track. A job very well done.

Conclusion

Rush and Tyler have once again raised the bar, not only in the level of kayaking, but also in terms of the quality of the movie.
